FORMING
EXTRUDER -
MC-1102 COOKING
Well
mixed and moistened raw materials
from MM-1101 Moisturizer are conveyed
into the barrel hopper. A variable-
speed 40 hp drive unit moves the
auger screw which transfers the
mixed ingredients through the
Extruder barrel. High pressure
and friction between the mixture
and the barrel creates sufficient
heat to induce gelatinization
of the mixed ingredients into
plasticized dough. Cooked and
gelatinized extrudate is then
forced into the die-head where
it is formed to the desired shape
by use of die-insert nozzles.
Formed
extrudates are cut to desired
length by use of built-in rotary
cut-off knife assembly driven
by a variable-speed motor (inverter
controlled). These cut extrudates
or half- products (commonly
known as PELLETS) which are
still slightly moist and hot
are collected into a net screen
plate (in case of manual collection)
or directly transferred to the
dryer through a flexible air
conveyor installed with air-rotary
valve. |
